Since 2005, I have worked with adults and adolescents in mental health and addiction treatment facilities and have facilitated groups, individual counseling and family counseling with children, adults and teens. My experience with children has encompassed almost thirty years and I have worked through the Troy school district in different capacities, was licensed as a behavioral foster parent, and led children’s programs for many organizations. As well as receiving training in play therapy, art therapy, attachment, Trauma focused CBT and EMDR therapy, my experience includes working in substance abuse and mental health intensive outpatient programs, such as Alternative Behavioral Care, Preferred Family Healthcare, Warren County Drug Court, and Division of Youth Services. My experience includes working with child sexual abuse, juvenile sex offenders, adults and teens who have experienced physical and sexual abuse, trauma, spiritual abuse, domestic violence, delinquency, probation, addiction and co-occurring/dual diagnosis needs. I have trainings and specialties in Trauma Informed Practices, Working with Veterans with PTSD and Substance Abuse, Addiction, Moral Reconation Therapy and Clinical Supervision of treatment services. My formal education includes classes in art, music and art therapy at Drake University, Des Moines, IA and BS in Psychology and MSEd in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis, MO.
